01 — Our Garden
A garden that grows knowledge.
The EIS Versilia Botanical Garden is much more than a place where plants grow. It is an open-air classroom shaped by curiosity, teamwork and care.
Students from every grade take part in planting, watering, observing and documenting the garden throughout the school year. Along the way, they learn how food is produced, why biodiversity matters and how healthy ecosystems support life.

Solanum lycopersicum
San Marzano Tomatoes
These famous Italian plum tomatoes are sweet, rich and perfect for sauces. Warm weather and plenty of sunlight help them thrive.

Ocimum basilicum
Basil
Basil loves warmth and sunlight. Its fresh aroma makes it one of the most recognisable herbs in Italian cooking.

Fragaria × ananassa
Strawberries
Sweet, colourful and rich in vitamin C, strawberries need sunlight, regular water and careful observation.

Eruca vesicaria
Rocket
Rocket grows quickly and has a distinctive peppery flavour. It helps students observe the complete plant cycle in less time.

Cucumis sativus
Cucumbers
Cucumbers grow on climbing vines and are made mostly of water. They need warmth, support and regular watering.
