Hello and welcome to the eis Versilia botanical garden website
eis Versilia Green Lab Academy-Hands on the Soil, Minds on the World
Hello everyone, and welcome to our Botanical garden. The garden is a projekt of the eis (educa international school) Versilia, on which all grades are working on. We already plantet:
San Marzano Tomatoes
San Marzano tomatoes are a special type of plum tomato from Italy. They are grown near Mount Vesuvius in volcanic soil, which gives them a very good taste. They are longer than normal tomatoes and have fewer seeds. San Marzano tomatoes taste sweeter and less sour than other tomatoes. They are often used for pizza and pasta sauce because they make a rich and natural tomato flavor.
Basil
Basil is a green herb that comes from tropical regions like India and Africa. It has soft green leaves and a strong, fresh smell. Basil needs warm temperatures and a lot of sunlight to grow well. It is often used in cooking, especially in Italian food like pasta and pizza. Basil is also used to make pesto and is sometimes used as a medicinal plant.
Strawberrys
Strawberries are small, sweet fruits that are very popular around the world. They are usually red, soft, and juicy, with tiny seeds on the outside. Strawberries grow best in sunny places and need regular water. Many people eat them fresh, but they are also used in cakes, jam, yogurt, and desserts. Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and are considered very healthy.
Rocket
Arugula (also called rocket) is a green leafy vegetable with a slightly spicy and peppery taste. It grows quickly and prefers cool temperatures and sunlight. Arugula is often used in salads, on pizza, or in sandwiches. It is rich in vitamins like vitamin C and vitamin K. Many people like it because it adds a fresh and strong flavor to food.
Cucumbers
Cucumbers are long, green vegetables with a fresh and mild taste. They are mostly made of water, which makes them very refreshing. Cucumbers grow on vines and need warm temperatures and regular watering. People often eat them raw in salads or sandwiches, but they can also be pickled. Cucumbers contain vitamins and are a healthy snack.

Our botanical garden is a learning project where students discover how plants grow. We learn about nature, sustainability and healthy food. Students take care of the plants and observe their development during the year.
